Distance learning Center

 The Head of the Centre - Alla L. Nazarenko

The Distance Learning Center was founded at the faculty in 2001.

The principal aim of the center is to help Russian university teachers specializing in linguistics and intercultural communication, to use information and telecommunication technologies (ICT) in teaching foreign languages.

The goals of the Distance Learning Center:
1. Organization of international conferences on use of ICT for distance learning of foreign languages and intercultural communication; 
2. Cooperation with universities, schools, educational establishments and other distance learning organizations;
3. Research in distance education (DE), analysis of Russian and foreign experience in the field of distance learning;
4. Developing research-based approaches to the use of distance learning technologies in Russia; 
5. Adaptation and modification of general didactic principles of DE to learning languages and crosscultural communication;
6. Elaboration of standards and recommendations concerning developing and teaching online distance courses in the above-mentioned area.
7. Creating and conducting online courses on the basis of research on DE theory with due attention to their efficiency.
8. Organizing methodological seminars for school and university teachers in distance education technologies.
