In 1992, for the first time, we introduced the academic discipline "The Language and Its World", which allowed us to develop a new methodological approach to the study of languages and cultures. Our Department offers special courses on the problems of modern English studies, the history of English and European languages, intercultural communication, different types of variation of the English language, its stylistic features, the specifics of its functioning in various speech registers, problems of languages for special purposes, including the spheres of business, academic communication and public relations, the problems of interaction between language and culture, as well as the theory and practice of teaching languages and cultures.
The courses developed by our teachers are designed for undergraduate and graduate students, postgrads and degree-seeking students, as well as students of preparatory courses and professional retraining programs at the Faculty. They are also used by other faculties and schools at Moscow State University.
