The Department of the French Language of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Area Studies
The Department of the French Language of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Area Studies was awarded the status of a separate structural unit on September 29, 2006. Prior to that (from 1992 onwards), it existed as a sub-division of the Department of the French Language for the humanities faculties.
Aims and objectives of the Department
- Teaching of French as a foreign language (first and second) at the Division for Linguistics and Intercultural Communications and the Division for Area Studies and International Relations.
- Delivering series of lectures: The World of the French Language, The Theory of French, the Theory of Teaching French.
- Conducting specialized courses and seminars.
- Managing practical teaching sessions conducted by 5-th year students (first language), supervision over the students’ independent research work, and managing post-graduate studies.
- Exchange of pedagogical experience with colleagues from other educational institutions in Moscow and other regions of the Russian Federation.
The Head of the Department is Professor Galina Bubnova, Doctor of Philological Sciences.
