The Department of Comparative Studies in Literatures and Cultures has the pleasure of inviting you to take part in
the 6th International conference
Creative Individual in the Cultural Context:
Readings in the memory of V.I. Fatyuschenko
Friday 17th – Sunday 19th, October 2014
at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Area Studies of Lomonosov Moscow State University
The conference is dedicated to the comprehensive research of various aspects of creativity as basis for cultural development; to the memory of creative individuals whose work was instrumental in shaping national traditions and world culture; to the study of the creative individual in arts and literature.
The following aspects will receive special attention at the conference:
1. The Year of Culture in the Russian Federation: Cultural traditions and national idea in contemporary Russia
2. Folklore and traditions in national cultures
3. Memory and culture
4. Creative individual in the evolution of tradition and culture (including comparative aspects)
5. Creative perspectives on Oriental cultures in Russia and Western Europe
6. Creative individual and cultural regionalism
7. Author's linguistic identity through text and culture
8. Creative individual in literature: character typology
9. Musurgia universalis: creativity in musical cultures of the world
10. 20th century Russian culture
11. Modern developments in cultural studies
12. Visual culture: current issues
Presentations should not exceed 15 minutes.

Participants will receive official invitations once the Conference Committee has assessed the applications and abstracts.
Abstract submission guidelines: MS Word files with the abstracts must be submitted by e-mail. Abstracts should not exceed 2500 characters (1 page, font: Times New Roman, font size: 12, spacing: 1.5). No manual formatting is allowed.
Submitted papers must be between 3 and 8 A4 pages long (MS Word files, font: Times New Roman, font size: 12, spacing: 1.5, margins: 2.5, no manual formatting, endnotes: continuous Arabic numbering). The Conference Committee reserves the right of final selection of the materials to be published as proceedings.
The participant fee for the conference is 865 rubles. Accommodation and transportation are at the expense of the participants.
